Our History

Frimley Seventh‑day Adventist Church stands today as a vibrant and growing community of faith, born from the vision and collaboration of dedicated, missional‑minded members from Reading Ghana SDA Church and Guildford SDA Church. The first worship service in Frimley was held in February 2010 at St Peter’s Church Hall, marking the beginning of a new Adventist presence in the area. Later that year, on 4 September, the church-plant was officially inaugurated with the support of members from Slough, Bracknell, Guildford, and Reading Ghana SDA— the mother church. Within five years, the church-plant grew in membership and strength, eventually on 21st August 2015 attaining full church status.

The original purpose was twofold: to establish an Adventist presence at the intersection of Surrey, Hampshire, and Berkshire, and to provide a closer place of worship for members living in the surrounding towns. Since its inception, however, the church has extended its mission beyond its walls, serving the wider community in meaningful and practical ways.

Over the years, the members of Frimley SDA Church have faithfully gathered every Saturday for worship, fellowship, and spiritual growth. One of the cherished traditions that has shaped the church’s identity and helped us grow stronger in numbers is the shared potluck lunch — a simple yet powerful expression of hospitality that has nurtured community, strengthened friendships, and created a sense of belonging that continues throughout the week.

Our Beliefs

In a nutshell our belief consists of The "Four Cs", often used to summarise the core of our faith. They are Christ, Cross, Commandments, and Coming Again

  • Christ: We believe in the Trinity and that Jesus Christ is truly divine and truly human. He is the mediator who lived a life of perfect obedience, acts as high priest in the heavenly sanctuary, and is the only means of salvation. (Luke 1:35; John 1:1-3, 14; 5:22; 10:30; 14:1–3, 9, 13; more...)

  • Cross: The crucifixion is central, viewed as the voluntary sacrifice of Christ to pay for human sin, providing justification and redemption by grace through faith. (John 3:16; 14:30; more...)

  • Commandments: We believe that the Ten Commandments are still binding, as an expression of God's love and will. This includes the observance of the seventh-day Sabbath (Saturday) as a holy day of rest and worship, established at creation. (Matt. 5:17-20; 12:1-12; 22:36-40; Mark 1:32; Luke 4:16; John 14:15; 15:7-10; more...)

  • Coming Again: We believe that Jesus will return to Earth a second time in a literal, personal, and visible manner to resurrect the righteous dead, take the faithful to heaven, and restore the Earth. (Matt. 24; Mark 13; Luke 21; John 14:1-3; more...)
